Asian Relief Medical Services

ARMS brings medical and dental relief services to impoverished communities in the Philippines annually. Bringing much-needed reliefs to these communities is just one of the many objectives of ARMS. At the heart of this missional work is evangelism and making disciples by working with local churches. As the national coordinator for ARMS, I have the pleasure to hear the aftermath and see the many fruits of our labor of love.

One particular to my heart is the planting of a church after a year or so of the medical mission. Churches in Manila, Bicol, and Aklan have been planted because of ARMS. The latest church that was planted was in 2019 at Aliputos, Aklan, Philippines. The medical mission was done a year prior, 2018, and one of our sites was at Aliputos Elementary School and our local church partner led by Pastor Arlene Asenjo. A couple of months after the medical mission, I received a FB message from Pastor Arlene and she shared with me her follow-up from those who accepted Christ. She was so joyful and tearful at the response of the new believers!

And a couple of months later she sent me pictures and stories about how they already have started a Bible study group in Aliputos. Then on September 15, 2019, she sent me pictures of the newly planted church there. Additionally, a church that was planted and its building funded by Christians in Action a decade ago is also now in the process of being revived by the same local pastor. But at the end of 2019, a typhoon destroyed the bamboo church building pictured below. Christians in Action Philippines helped the church to build a temporary church using tarps and coco lumber.

ARMS and the reliefs we do in the Philippines need your support to disciple and plant churches through various relief efforts. Please prayerfully consider supporting ARMS and Christians in Action Philippines.
