Missionary Edwin Duenas and his team started simple in serving the people. On March 26th on Facebook he posts:
“Face masks. Helping out in the simplest way by giving out masks to those who cannot afford one, now that these can cost a family almost a whole meal. At the same time giving a family an income while in lockdown. #littlehelp #doyourpart“
On March 29th, Edwin Duenas with his team cancel service and decide to serve the people relief goods. From Facebook Edwin writes:
“SERVICE AS WORSHIP: Our Worship Service This Morning”
One definition of “worship” – an expression of faith!
This morning we decided to do just that: to worship God through servitude. We helped serve our community with relief goods.
“But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”James 2:18
Our faith should not be just spoken words but spoken words backed by deeds. Deeds or good works that were prepared for us to accomplish.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesian 2:8-10)
We do good works to express our salvation through faith. Not to gain salvation but rather proclaiming that we cannot do these good works apart from the grace of God who empowers us to do good works. Therefore, we cannot boast about our good deeds but rather we boast that Christ lives in us who accomplishes these works through us.
Of course we cannot serve our community with relief goods without our brethren who are united with us as one body of Christ. Through their support we will accomplish much. #BETTERTOGETHER
Let us share HOPE by our FAITH through CHARITY!
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”(1 Corinthians 13:13 KJV)
