Rev. Andrew David Kanu

National Superintendent of the Ministry (2022)

Andrew David Kanu was born on 14th December 1971 in the Kono District.  Married with four (4) children.  A graduate of The Evangelical College of Theology (TECT).

Gained employment at the Gospel Recordings, Sierra Leone (now Global Recordings Network, Sierra Leone – GRN, SL) in 1992, worked in different departments/capacities in 2006, and became the National Director of GRN, SL.

In 1989, I joined the Christians In Action Ministry in Sierra Leone.   I served in various capacities in my Church.  I also served at the national level as a Board Member and Chairman of Committees.  I became a Licensed Minister in 2007, an Ordained Minister in 2014, and the Senior Pastor of the Central Church in 2016.   In May 2022, I became the National Superintendent of the Ministry.

I am a highly motivated individual with vast skills, knowledge, and experience in Missions and Ministry work. A good team player with good interpersonal skills, compassionate and results-oriented. I am intrigued by roles that come with challenging duties and responsibilities.

My years of service with Global Recordings Network (GRN SL) and Christians in Action Sierra Leone (CinASL) have greatly enhanced and broadened my knowledge and understanding of Missions and Ministry work.   I also gained the experience of working conveniently with people from all categories – race, tribe, age group, nationality, religion, temperament, gender, social status, career/professional, etc.

Gradually in the discharge of my duties and responsibilities, I have been able to acquire more knowledge, skills, and experiences in administration, communication, financial management, budget preparation, fundraising, reporting, capacity building, protocol and logistics, project development, planning and implementation, conflict resolution, working under pressure, traveling formalities, handling criticism, meeting deadlines regardless of the prevailing circumstance, etc.

My work at GRN SL allowed me to travel to all major towns, cities, and villages nationwide, implementing field projects mostly with fewer privileged people (both Christians and non-Christians) and establishing Contact Base/Focal Points in all major towns and villages nationwide.

Internationally I traveled in various African and Asian countries, Australia, and the United States of America (USA).

I have also served as a Board Member of The Evangelical Fellowship of Sierra Leone and the International Orality Network Africa as The Media Coordinator.
